The Coalition for Public Safety and #cut50 will cohost the Bipartisan Summit on Fair Justice on Wednesday, July 22, in Washington, DC, to bring together lawmakers and national advocacy leaders to discuss solutions and actions needed to reform the United States criminal justice system.
The Summit will feature some of the nation’s prominent voices pursuing reforms, including:
- Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates;
- U.S. Senators Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Democratic Ranking Member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Rand Paul (R-KY);
- Representatives Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and Bobby Scott (D-VA);
- And Roy Austin, Director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs, Justice, and Opportunity.

Given President Obama’s for an overhaul of the justice system, and a commitment from leading, bipartisan congressional voices to advance comprehensive reforms, the Summit will build on that momentum and put words into actions to achieve reform this year.
